SilkStart launches its unique social bidding platform for the Vancouver Board of Trade

Powered by the first $100,000 contract from the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Board of Trade is the first chamber of commerce in Canada to leverage SilkStart’s latest social networking technology to offer an exclusive hub for bidding on contracts.

SilkStart today launched its unique social bidding platform for the Vancouver Board of Trade, a revolutionary Software as Service product for membership organizations to set up an exclusive membership social network for members to connect with one another, communicate easily across their whole social media network, and much more!

SilkStart’s social marketplace feature enables members to post contracts (or RFPs), and virally distribute these opportunities to the rest of the membership and its thousands of contacts outside of the membership.

“SilkStart’s latest technology across multi-platforms will transform the way The Board of Trade communicates and does business,” said entrepreneurial co-founder and CEO Daniel Chu.

“We chose to partner with The Board of Trade exclusively in the Lower Mainland because it is Western Canada’s leading business association and we wanted to customize this technology for a sizeable business organization. Our mission is to revitalize membership organizations around the world. We believe that an association that is well-equipped with the latest technology, such as The Board, empowers its members and volunteers to easily communicate and connect with one another, enabling them to make a difference.”

The Vancouver Board of Trade calls this unique platform, Board Business Exchange (BBX), open for business today.

“BBX has been launched to benefit our members in business. We are the first chamber of commerce in Canada to offer this unique mix of a social business platform which, with our members’ support, is set to grow into a major regional hub for bids with international potential,” said Jason McLean, chairman, The Vancouver Board of Trade.

Members joining the online community are also able to network on BBX through chats and online discussions. The BBX concept is especially unique because it is one of the first to expand a business association’s communications across all the major social media platforms, giving users the option to link to their Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. Other special features include instant alerts on new tenders emailed out to BBX users as soon as they are posted.
